Happy Friday guys! I'm so excited for the weekend! This week was hectic and next week is packed, so I'm incredibly excited to have some chunks of time to get caught up on blog work and chores, and hopefully to spend some of that time with R!
Today I'm starting another mini-series on the blog! I know, I know, I've already got two! But what can I say, I enjoy organizing and I organize everything I possibly can, so I love having 'series' to categorize and organize my posts!
This series is all about some of the trends for SS17 that I'm loving and incorporating into my wardrobe. Today, it's all about the cold shoulder trend. This trend is definitely not new, as it started popping up this fall, with endless sweaters and knits featuring cut-out shoulders. It also doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon. If anything, shoulder play seems to be getting stronger, with OTS tops still going strong, and other styles, like one shoulder tops, becoming more and more popular.
Now, if you're a regular reader, you know I love basics and having a capsule wardrobe made of great basics you can mix and match. But I'm a also huge fan of statement tops and finding ways to incorporate trends into my wardrobe, while still mainly having pieces that are versatile and I can get a lot of wear out of.
The cold shoulder trend is one I'm loving, and have incorporated into my wardrobe through this top. While it does feature a major trend of the season (two actually, can you guess the second? ;) ), it's still so versatile and can go with almost any bottom in my wardrobe. It, along with the lovely camel coat I'm wearing, are from The Style Theory Collective, and you and still can still save 15% off of your first order with code Laurelle.
What do you think of the the cold shoulder trend, or incorporating trends into your wardrobe in general? Will you be flaunting this stile this SS season? Let me know in the comments below!
