Style Diary — Black is the new Black

Happy Friday Friends!! It's finnnnally the weekend! It's going to be a busy, but fun one! R is participating in a Pokemon tournament (he cracks me up...), but it means spending Sunday in Philly, so I'm not complaining! What are you all up to?

Also, happy November!! I can't believe the holidays are right around the corner! I'm so excited for the next two months, especially for all of the great gifts and sales I'll be shopping and sharing with you! It may seem early, but every year Christmas sneaks up on me much faster than I expect! So this year, I'm determined to be more organized and get my shopping done early. That way, I can actually enjoy the week before Christmas and spend time with family, instead of frantically shopping! Last but not least, lets talk about this sweater and how it needs to be in your closet! One, it's super soft and cozy. Two, it's roomy and drapey, so you'll look chic and polished, even if you just ate half a pizza and have a huge food baby. It will be you and your sweater's little secret! Three, it will keep you warm and cozy, partly because cowl necks double as scarves. They really do, and I love them for it in the cooler months! Four, it comes in 7 colors! (I'm trying not to buy it in burgundy...) Five, it's almost HALF OFF! It's a no guilt purchase because it's super functional, versatile, and you save so much! My dad would disagree with my logic there (love you dad!), but I still choose to see buying items on sale as saving money ;)

If you've been following my posts the last couple of weeks, you've probably come to the conclusion that I'm living in these Steve Madden pumps. If you have come to that conclusion, you're absolutely correct. I wear them more days a week than not... #noshame. They're so comfortable and take any outfit to the next level! I especially love pairing them with a black top! Black is definitely my favorite color to wear, and no matter how many different colors become the 'new black', I personally think none of them will ever 'out-chic' black. White may come close, but black is timelessly classic. I try make sure my closet has at least one black everything. For shoes, I have black pumps, flats, boots, and sandals. For tops, a black sweater, cardigan, t-shirt, blouse, utility blouse, ect. That way, if I'm ever stuck on what to wear, I grab a black top & shoes, and then pants that are any color but black. It's my favorite 'basic chic outfit' recipe!
