Style Diary — Easy Fall Dressing

Happy Monday! Where did the weekend go!? I’m definitely not ready for it to be Monday already! We had such a great trip to North Carolina; R’s soon-to-be stepsister’s wedding was beautiful, all our traveling went well, and we had a wonderful time hiking in Jefferson and exploring Charlotte! The weather was so lovely too! I wore this outfit yesterday, and it was perfect for walking around in the sunny fall weather.

I just love how feminine and ruffle-y this blouse is; it elevates any outfit! I try to keep several neutral but not plain/pretty tops in my closet as it makes dressing for work incredibly easy. I just throw one on with some jeans and pumps or boots, and I’m ready to go! I picked it up from Ann Taylor when I got this white one a few weeks back, and have been wearing it to work quite a bit since. I’ve always been a huge fan of LOFT, but I’m slowly becoming just as big of a fan of Ann Taylor! I love how pretty, feminine, and polished their clothes (especially their blouses) are! They’ve also been having some great sales lately; if I’m remembering correctly, this top and my white one from last Monday were both under $40! While it might seem a bit high for a sale piece, their clothes are such great quality, I feel it’s worth it! Lately, (since starting to try to curate a good seasonal & year round capsule wardrobe, which you can read more about here) I’m starting to spend a bit more on wardrobe essentials when I can, as I really appreciate the pieces I have that are good quality and last for a while. After all, when you fall in love with something and spend your hard-earned money on it, the last thing you want is for it to shrink, fall apart, or look ratty after a couple of wears! I used to be a quantity over quality person, but have flipped quite a bit on that... I think I’m turning into my dad!
