Summer Style — Trending: Polka Dots

Happy Friday Lovelies! I can't believe we're almost to another weekend...where do the weeks go!? We're laying low and spending time with my family this weekend, partly because we want to avoid the crazy July 4th weekend traffic. What are you guys up to? Hopefully we can all squeeze in some time to relax! Maybe even by some water :)

So today, this might seem like a continuation of Monday's blog post, about skirts with slits, but it's actually more of a tribute to a fun trend that's popped up this spring/summer: polka dots! I actually used to not like polka dots very much, but I am really liking how they're being reinvented lately! Whether they'r micro-sized, paired with super-feminine details like ruffles, or in muted pastels colors, they're making a strong comeback with these modern twists.

It's true, I am crushing hard on skirts with slits, but what caught my eye with this skirt was that it was a muted pink with cream polka dots! The warm tones are so perfect for summer, as is the light linen material it's made of. I also love how modern and feminine the skirt is; how the bow, slit and flare soften the hardness of the geometric shapes. You guys know I love pairing opposing styles, so this quickly became a fav!

The only warning I need to give is that the slit can blow open a little to much for comfort if it's breezy, so just be aware while wearing. Otherwise, it's a dreamy little number for a summer date, wedding, or any other occasion you want to look pretty and dressed up for. If you want to dress it down though, as I mentioned in my post from earlier this week on side slit skirts, just pair it with a tee and sneaker slides, and you're golden!
