Why You Need a Pair of White Boots in Your Closet

Happy Friday!  Is anyone else thrilled that the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend!?  And eagerly anticipating spring, balmy 70 degree days, and beautiful flowers blooming everywhere?  I may have spring fever... ;)

Speaking of spring, let's talk about white, particularly these gorgeous white ankle boots.  If I'm honest, when I first saw a few photos of people wearing white boots this fall, I was quite skeptical.  They seem rather stark and dramatic; something that only fashion icons like Aimee Song (@songofstyle), Chriselle Lim (@chrisellelim), and Arielle Charnas (@somethingnavy) can pull off.  However, they began to grow on me as I started to see them styled in ways I loved and could totally wear.  When I saw a pair on sale at Zara back in January, I decided to take the plunge and give them a try.  Now, I'm totally sold on white ankle boots and love wearing them!  So, let me now convince you why you need them in your wardrobe.

1) They are insanely versatile

Seriously, they go with pretty much EVERYTHING.  Jeans?  Yep!  Skinny or flared, shorts or ankle skimmers.  Skirt?  Definitely.  Minimal outfit?  Perfectly.  Crazy fun outfit?  They won't clash, they'll add sophistication.  Aside from a maybe a very warm toned-fall or summer outfit, I really can't think of anything they won't go with!

2) They are the perfect transition piece from Winter to Spring

If you have Spring fever like me, you're itching to wear all the light colors, floral prints, and sandals at the moment.  But then the weather gives you an ice cold reality check, literally.  So you do what you can; you start to incorporate lighter colors and fabrics, while still keeping most of your skin covered.  White boots are the perfect way to do that!  They're so fresh and bright, but you don't have to worry about freezing your feet off in open-toed shoes!  I can also see these transitioning well into summer...(think a white collared shirt loosely tucked into some dark, distressed jean shorts...perfection.)

3) They are a beautiful, sophisticated statement piece

White boots are the most understated statement pieces you'll ever wear.  I believe that the best outfits include one well-picked statement piece.  But a statement piece doesn't always need to be bright or flashy.  In fact, when trying to look sophisticated, less is often more.  A statement piece could be an all black designed bag, with some beautiful gold hardware, it could be a beautifully tailored coat on top of a very simple outfit, or it could be this pair of white boots.  So simple and minimal, yet your eye is drawn to them immediately!

If you aren't sold yet, then let me share with you how I found the exact same boots from the Zara sale (which are looooong gone) for $40 right here.  I also found some other fun pairs which I linked below with all of my other outfit details, including the adorable black sweater I'm wearing with ruffles all down the back, which is on major sale at the moment!

As always, let me know in the comments below if you enjoyed this!  I'd also love to hear your thoughts on white boots!  Do you own a pair?  Would you ever?
