Happy Sunday friends! It's been such a busy week, but such a good week! I am realizing deadlines do me good, as I get so much more done than I ever thought I could before them! NYC was definitely the highlight of the week... It was wonderful; it left me starry-eyed and excited to return, as it always does, and I am so looking forward to NYFW! I'm also really looking forward to fall! Anyone else have fall fever? The crisp beautiful weather we've been having the past few mornings and evenings have definitely not been helping me with this! ;) I do feel like I get this way right before all of the seasons (except for winter, haha)... But especially for fall. The crisp, fresh air, sweaters, hot drinks, boots.... I could go on! But if your a fall lover, definitely comment below!

In preparation for fall, I am going to start sharing with you guys some of my favorite pieces I've been picking up for my AW wardrobe. To start with, lets talk about this gorgeous velvet, dark blue military jacket... Isn't it just stunning? I absolutely love the deep green-hued blue color of the velvet and the gorgeous gold detailing. It's one of those pieces you can throw over jeans and a tee to take it next level (which I pretty much did here). Add a pair of heels, and boom. You've got a chic, edgy, and polished look!

I'm really loving statement pieces at the moment for that reason... they make it so easy to look incredibly stylish! They also work so well with basics, which are often more comfy than not (I'm alllll about being comfy! except when it comets my shoes, haha!). Military-inspired jackets are pretty easy to make a statement with, as they usually have beautiful brass buttons and a lot of detailing, whether it be in the form of embellishments or the dramatic shape and cut of the jacket. I love that this jacket incorporates some trends we're seeing for fall, such as velvet, (although velvet is pretty much an 'autumn/winter must' at this point, much like military jackets themselves!), big buttons, and dark blue. It was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but after going back to its original price, was dropped to even cheaper than what I got it for! (I hate it when that happens, haha!) It's now 50% off and under $100, which is a pretty good deal for a statement jacket!
