Style Diary — Burgundy Peplum & Gold-Heeled Sandals
Happy Fri-yay!
This Friday is a particularly happy one because it's the beginning of my summer break! I still teach privately one or two days a week, but I'm so excited to have off the rest of the week! One thing I've been working on lately is trying to be a better steward of my time, and I especially want to do that with so much free time this month. It's too easy to let the days go by without using that time to do all the things I put off during the year because I'm 'too busy'.
Today I wanted to share with you this super-comfy yet totally work appropriate peplum top! I've been wearing it on repeat this past month, especially for teaching. It's so soft and the loose peplum shape is flattering for any body type (it gets bonus points for being very forgiving after a large meal!). It's also very versatile. It can be dressed up by wearing it over a pencil skirt or dress pants, or down by wearing it over jeans or shorts. The short sleeves and light feel allow it to be worn in the summer, yet the deep burgundy color and sweater material make it a great piece for transitioning into and wearing during the fall. I'll definitely be wearing it a lot during the coming months! The top also comes in a creme color, and was 40% off when I purchased it at the LOFT outlet. They had plenty in stock, but unfortunately are sold only in stores. However, if you can't make it to a store, LOFT.com has a huge selection of peplum tops, most of which are around 50% off; I linked some below that were similar to the one I'm wearing.
I know I've already mentioned these black & gold heels in a previous post, but seriously, they're worth mentioning again. They are one of my favorite shoes!! They're perfect for when you want something dressy, but have to be able to walk/be on your feet a lot or just don't feel like wearing high heels. Metallic colors or details on shoes has and is becoming a pretty popular trend. Steve Madden has an entire collection of beautiful shoes that are metallic and another one of shoes that have metallic heels. While their shoes are much cheaper than designer heels, they can still be a bit pricey. However, if you sign up for their emails, you can get a coupon code for 10% off, or if you make an account and fill out a few things on your profile, you can get a coupon code for 15% off. Every little bit helps!
