Style Diary — Cream Peplum Blouse & Bordeaux Velvet Pumps

Happy Monday...again!  This weekend flew by!  Most of mine was spent on a piano bench or outdoors enjoying the lovely fall weather! Despite hurricane Matthew making Saturday rather rainy, we still had some gorgeous, quintessential fall weather Friday & Sunday. Although the wind was insane yesterday!  I wore this look to church, then we shot it after a rehearsal I had, and my hair was one knotted mess after!  We got way more shots of my hair in my face than not!  The pictures were quite funny to look through. ;) How did you guys spend your weekend?

I've been dying to shoot this peplum blouse & these velvet pumps for a while now!  They were 'love at first sight' pieces when I saw them online and again when got them in person.  I've been wearing them so much, it's almost embarrassing!  Luckily my piano students & their parents only see me one day a week ;)  The blouse is such a versatile one.  You could easily wear it as business casual to work, paired with black pants & a blazer or cardigan, or out on the town or to work with a more casual dress code, like I have been, with jeans and pumps or boots.  Speaking of pumps, these velvet beauties are very comfortable for heels!  And the pictures don't do them justice, they look gorgeous in person! I kid you not, the first day I wore them, every woman I ran into said something about them.  I didn't realize how much of a statement shoe they wold be when I first got them!  I love them because they combine two big trends this fall: velvet & bordeaux/burgundy, yet they are still so neutral & versatile.  They were definitely a bit of a splurge, but well-worth it in my opinion!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

xx,

JordanLaurelle
