Summer Style — Leather Shorts

Shorts in the summer, I have such a love hate relationship with them. I love shedding layers and fabric, obviously, when the heat hits. But shorts are one type of clothing I find so hard to style and look good in. Especially since my legs are not exactly model-esque, and I'm only 5'4" on a good day.

But these leather shorts I recently snagged at Alice + Olivia... I've been so impressed with how much I love them! They're so chic, a bit edgy, and very flattering. They're also very easy to style, they work with bodysuits, crop tops, knotted tees, and more. Part of it is the leather, of course... Leather always adds an element of street-style edge and elevates a look. But the cut and shape of these shorts is also what makes them so great, and incredibly flattering. The fact that they’re very tailored adds a polished and sophisticated element, and the shape helps slim and elongate legs, as it cinches at the waist and flares out.

Also, how cute is this tee!? I'm so in love. Obviously I'm a fan of couture/designer pieces. They're my weakness and what I like to spend my spending money on. But I loooove how designer names and branding are making a comeback in fun and/or vintage styles. I bought this tee when I went vegan, but I still love and wear it, because its kind of almost classic.
