Top 10 Mother's Day Gift Ideas

YSL Mon Paris Fragrance and Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Happy Monday! With Mother's Day fast approaching, I wanted to share some great gift ideas with you guys!  I tried to share more unique and thoughtful gift ideas, as sometimes flowers and chocolate get overdone!  I hope this helps you in your search for finding that special something for your mom!

Lavender or Herb Plant

I bought a lavender plant a few months ago.  It was on a whim, mainly because they had some beautiful ones for $5 at Trader Joes, and I used to love sitting by and smelling the huge lavender plant my parents have near our back patio.  It was such a great decision!  The smell is so lovely and relaxing, and the soft green leaves add a bit of serenity to any space!  You can also use lavender in baking and drinks, so it has some practical purpose as well!  And you don't have to go with lavender if you know your mom has a love for another type of herb!  Any herb, like mint, basil, verbena, ect. make a great alternative to flowers! They don't die within a few days, they smell wonderful, they can be used around the kitchen, and your mom probably won't be receiving an herb plant from all of your other siblings! ;)

Stress Relief Lotion

This lotion is my absolute favorite!! I can't tell you how incredibly relaxing it is!  The scent is Eucalyptus Spearmint, and I literally feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders when I put it on.  It seems to make my cares float away and it leaves me feeling so pampered and relaxed.  I feel more relaxed just thinking about it, haha!  It's currently on sale for only $6, which is over half off it's normal price, and the scent comes in all kinds of other products, like a pillow mist, body scrub, shampoo & conditioner, and more, so you can make a whole relaxing goodie bag with them!

Adorable Oven Mitts

So I actually discovered what a GEM Anthropologie is for finding cute kitchen accessories while find a gift for my friend's bridal shower... I knew they had some pretty things for home decor, but I guess it'd be a while since I'd been in a store and I thought their decor was a bit too 'artsy' or 'out there' for my taste.  Boy am I glad I stepped in and discovered I was wrong!!  The cat and hummingbird oven mitts/pot holders have to be my favorite.  They're just darling!  I feel like oven mitts and pot holders are two of those things that get forgotten and consequently get dingy and old, so they're a great gift that usually isn't over-gifted, like candles and chocolate.

Extra Soft Blanket

I seem to be on a comfort kick here, haha!  But the older I get, (and yes, I realize I'm not that old, and that I look about 7 years younger than I actually am...), the more I gravitate toward comforting things.  Friday nights in, fuzzy blankets, relaxing candle scents and body lotions, shows that give you warm fuzzy feelings inside and lot soft laughs, soft sweaters and leggings...I could go on... but I can only imagine how much more a busy and slightly frazzled mom might feel!  This blanket is beautiful and luxurious, and this one is soft and snuggly and not quite as much of a splurge!

Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

One thing that every woman needs in their life, especially as they get older and when have kids, is GREAT skincare! (obviously kids are a huge blessing, but stress levels tend to go up, and sleep levels tend to go down... a very bad combo for keeping your skin in great shape!) These products I have used daily for months and adore!  I've noticed my skin improve a lot over the last few months from using them consistently.  My skin's texture is smoother, the tone is more bright and even, and wrinkles have diminished.   I plan on continuing to use them!

Gift Card to a Restaurant

Everyone knows that parents tend to give way more than they get, and often end up putting their kids and family first.  Sometimes they need that extra push too treat themselves and take time to escape and relax.  A gift card is a great way to give them the excuse and push to do that!  Whether she uses it for a date with her loved one or a fun night out with a girlfriend, a gift card to a restaurant is a great way to spoil a mom.

Nest Liquidness Diffuser

I don't know why this hasn't been invited before... like seriously!!  This is the perfect invention for moms who have pets and kids having fun all around the house, making breakables and spillables a no-no.  I am a HUGE fan of Nest fragrances, as you guys probably know from my monthly favorites posts and Instastories.  Their fragrances are just beautiful, whether they be in perfume, candle, or body lotion form.  I must confess that I haven't tried their new liquidness diffusers yet, but from the consistent over-all amazingness of their other products (especially their normal liquid diffusers!) I feel confident that this will be just as good!   The Sicilian Orange and Grapefruit scents are amazing and perfect for summer!

Nadri Jewelry

This jewelry brand never ceases to tempt me to pull out my credit card.  They have absolutely stunning pieces while nearly always staying under $100, and often staying under $50!  Each piece is so elegant, it would be a perfect gift to make a mom feel special and beautiful.

YSL Mon Paris Eau de Parfum

THIS SCENT.  I feel like I've hit the scent jackpot the past month.  I'm actually a pretty picky person (just ask my poor husband... ;) ), so I promise I don't just love and rave about all scents!  (or all things for that matter!)  If the Kenzo World perfume I talked about in my monthly favorites post reminded me of summer nights, this reminds me of late spring and early summer mornings!  Its a bit sweet, from the berry and pear notes, but definitely not too sweet, as it's balanced with more sensual and sophisticated notes from flowers and patchouli.

A Classic Watch

I know everyone seems to be drawn towards the latest and greatest technology, but a classic, elegant analog wrist watch just can't be replaced by any kind of fancy watch, like an Apple watch.  They're so much more aesthetically pleasing and beautiful and they don't get distracting with updates and calls and such.  Some may need or want to stay that connected to their smart devices for work, but if we're honest, a phone is more than enough when not working.  When going on a dinner date, to an event, out for a fun night out with friends, or even just spending some one on one time with the kids, a classic watch is perfect for escaping and disconnecting, with out feeling too disconnected.  Plus, let's be honest, tech watches just aren't as beautiful or classy as a well-designed analog watch, no matter how slim or minimal their design is!
