Outfit Recipe — French Stripes
Happy Monday guys! Hope your week is off to a great start! Today I wanted to share a quick outfit post with a favorite look today. There's a good chance it's a favorite because it's a bit French inspired... ;)
The French are associated with stripes, and for good reason... the striped Brenton shirt was the French Navy uniform and it ended up inspiring a entire line by Coco Chanel in 1917...The French are also big on neutrals, especially black, and structured pieces. Hence this outfit!
I love pairing either something casual, like a tee, or something very feminine, like a cami, under masculine, structured piece, like a blazer. I believe mixing opposites, like dressy and casual, masculine and feminine, etc. is incredibly chic and adds such intrigue to an outfit! It's so integral to my sense of style.
For this outfit, I paired a structured black blazer and high, pointed sock boots with a playful striped tee and casual ripped black denim. The two more structured, dressy pieces pair well with the more fun and casual ones, balancing each other. Since the look is almost monochrome, I added my embroidered Prada bag to make it a bit more interesting.
I ended up loving how the stripes paired with the print from the bag! So much so that I'm thinking of putting together a whole outfit based on the idea! What do you guys think? Would/Do ever you pair stripes and prints? Do you liked how it looked here? Let me know in the comments below!
